Dr. Irvin speaks on the prominence of Western, Euro-centric education as well as the limitations and failures of the Western humanities. He explains how narrow thinking can feed into superiority complexes (like those belonging to white supremacy) and offers ways that students can challenge their own unconscious biases.

Dean Betsy Sandlin defines inclusion, explaining that it is an action and an ongoing process. She shares about her own journey and gives advice on how to foster inclusion on an everyday basis.

Dr. Skulley defines identity politics, explains its tie to structural racism, and gives examples of where we can see structural racism today. In the video, she also provides resources for allies to better educate themselves on being anti-racist.

Cassie Meyer explains how intragroup dialogue and white affinity groups can be used to further the fight against systemic racism. In the process, she gives a few tips and tricks for facilitating such a group.

Dr. Melody Lehn examines the language of allyship and gives an overview of how speaking and listening can aide and abet in the push for social justice while also carrying the same capacity to detract and undermine societal change. Take heed of her words and use her advice as food for thought as you develop your understanding of allyship.

Dr. Schneider discusses the history of American police departments, their gradual militarization, and the ensuing consequences affecting Black communities and communities of color. Afterwards, she offers steps individuals can take to prevent the further militarization of their own local police department.

Nicky Hamilton, C'99 speaks on the concept of two-faced racism elaborating on how racism exists in the "front stage" and the "back stage." She provides tips on challenging back-stage behavior and explains how these actions play a role in dismantling racism.
